Another Pug Rescued !!
Posted On 05/08/2008 10:04:49 by PugDaddy

My wife called me at work Sunday night. She rode past this house in our neighborhood & noticed a pug in the yard tied to a tree. Outside tied to a tree !! How stupid some people are. Soooo...after a few trips past during the day she stops to talk to the lady. Lady says "You want him?? Here...take him" !! With that she goes inside & comes back out a minute later with his food, blankie, toys, & stuff. Wellllll Otis is now at MYYYYY house...in the Pug Palace. She said she got him & her kids hate him. Stupid kids !! LOL !! She told Ellen he was going to have to spend the entire summer outside tied to that tree. Ha !! Not if WE can help it !!

Actually he's a Pug/Lhasa Apso mix. 7 mo old male..not fixed. Fawn. Looks just like a puggie but really short legs, long body, & a little bit of a snout..LOL..with a Lhasa underbite. He's sitting in my lap as I type this. He's very afraid of the other pugs but has met Dixie and Gabriel face to face & that went well. I'm not sure yet if we're going to be able to keep him. 6 in the house is just so much. But at least my heart feels good that we got him out of that house of neglect. He's finding out what love really is. I'll keep ya'll posted on what happens to Otis. Even if we don't decide to keep him....you can rest assurred he'll have a good life now.

**** Update ****
There's a lady in my office that in addition to working 911 also teaches school. Her granddaughters ( 3 & 9 ) are moving in with her next month. She's wanting a little puppy for them & is very excited about giving Otis a loving home !! We're going to foster him for 3 weeks until the end of the school year when she has more time to spend with him. Meanwhile he'll be spoiled rotten at The Pug Palace !!

Otis happens to be the cutest and luckiest doggie around. It makes my heart feel special that there are still some people who love animals and especially dogs the way I do. I see strays dropped off all the time where I live in a rural area and we always end of keeping and feeding them. Some work out with us and others we find new homes.

i just don't understand people, why get a animal and tie them up. It was very nice of you to rescue this adoreable pug. I would have done the same thing. We go camping every weekend and last year there was a pug who got away from it's owner. Of course, everyone came to me and wondered if I had lost one of my pugs, but no, I hadn't. To make the story short, I found out that the owners had zipped up their tent, In the dead heat, mind you, and had their pug inside. It had to be 80 degrees outside that day also. I wanted so bad to go to their site and grab that poor pug, tell the owners what i thought of them, and grab the dog and run. It bothered me for several weeks after that. Thanks again for your kind heart
